We are excited to announce our next photo show Double Xpo OPEN CALL. We extended our submission deadline to Nov. 15, 2025 & we are happy to announce that we have 35 photos to showcase!
Film double exposure is a creative technique that involves exposing the same frame of film twice or more to layer images. To create one, you can either shoot two different scenes on the same roll by taking a photo, not advancing the film, and then taking another, or use a camera with a multi-exposure setting or shoot a roll then rewind & shoot over it. You can also shoot a roll, rewind it & shoot it again (preferable on the same camera to best match up the frame. It's crucial to properly meter for both shots to avoid overexposure by underexposing each individual exposure by half or a full stop. It can be shot intentionally or a happy accident.
