Instant Project-Ross Togashi

From the series: Homebound, 2013.

These photographs are from a series of images created while home alone. I find the quiet and solitude to be conducive to my creativity.  Common household objects and toys become “props” in a play that unfolds before my camera.

The choice of instant film provides spontaneity and immediate feedback, while the pinhole camera’s slower and contemplative pace allows me to record reflections of an internal landscape.

Equipment details: Home-made pinhole camera, with Diana Instant Film Back, and Fuji Instax Mini Film.
